Outdoor Activities around Dufftown

Take advantage of the Great Scottish Outdoors whilst staying in Dufftown. Fishing, golf, skiing, gorge walking and many other outdoor pursuits can all be enjoyed in the area.

 

Fishing

There is easy road access from Dufftown, to the world famous salmon fisheries of Strathspey. Permits for the rivers Fiddich and Dullan may be obtained from outlets in Dufftown. There is also fishing available at Loch Park, Drummuir; Glen Rothes Fishery, Rothes and Arloch of Huntly.

 

Golf

Visitors are welcome to the clubhouse of Dufftown Golf Club, one mile from the village's square. It's one of the highest courses in Scotland. Take the challenge with 18 holes of breathtaking scenery.

 

Play Areas

Let younger members of the family let off steam whilst you relax and watch. Play areas are available at the School Field, Hill Street, Tininver Street and McLennon Place.

 

Bowling

Try your hand at outdoor bowling during our long summer evenings at the Stephen Avenue Bowling Green. Indoor bowling is also available during the winter as advertised locally.

Dufftown Golf Club Dufftown Golf Club is an 18 hole course set amongst the most breathtaking scenery in Speyside, the heart of the malt whisky country. Loch Park Adventure Centre Loch Park provides excellent facilities for anyone interested in outdoor pursuits, including team building challenges with people of all abilities to enjoy adventure safely. Activities range from kayaking, canoeing, raft building, brown trout fishing, gorge walking, and archery to undertaking a ropes course all in one place.

Skiing

Dufftown is an ideal base for skiiers and snow boarders as accommodation prices are lower than in other resorts. It's only 30 minutes from the Lecht and 60 minutes from Aviemore. Nordic skiing trails are to be found near Huntly just a few miles to the east.
